"Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini Length: 11 hours and 53 min. ISBN: New York Times Best Seller Listen to an excerpt with: Windows Media Player Real Player |
Kite Runner is read by the author, Khaled Hosseini, and it adds a lot to the listening experience. He knows exactly where to accentuate, pause, and pronounce Afghan words the way they should be!
I loved the book. It is such a beautiful, sad story about a boy and a man, a friendship and a life, love and betrayal, in the setting of Afghanistan before and after the Soviet invasion up to our days. I learnt a lot too, I love books that give me some knowledge and insight into other peoples and cultures.
I recommend listening to this book not only in your car driving to work, but also at home when you can fully devote yourself to the story. It’s quite emotional at times and then it’s good to know that you’re not behind the wheel if your eyes get teary!
